Tom Thumb, aka Half Pint Pea is a heirloom dating back to the 1800s.
This very dwarf variety grows to 8 inches tall, making this the ideal variety
to grow in windowsills year round, containers, baskets, & for those with limited space.
The petite plant produces full sized pods, each filled with tiny delicious super sweet, bright green peas.
The very attractive white flowers preceding the plentiful crop of lovely sweet peas are a bonus.
Very tolerant of cold & well started plants can stand out longer in the Autumn weather as well
as being able to be planted out in the earliest of Spring days.
Sow outdoors February to June in pots or containers 1 inch deep, 3 inches apart.
Cover with fine soil & firm down lightly.
Keep well watered.
Germination in 7 to 14 days.
Harvest May through October.
Matures 50 to 60 days.
Harvest regularly to encourage further crops.
Peas mature quickly after flower formation, so check your pods often.
