This ring was examined by a jeweler who told me it was not gold, was likely a bench jeweler's handmade prototype design, made before the jeweler used Karat gold and a diamond to produce the final piece. it was created as a one-off using lesser materials- in this case likely an amalgam of different metals including some real gold which does not tarnish, often called pinchbeck in antique jewelry, and a less valuable stone. which is not glass, I was told it could be a white sapphire, or another clear natural stone.. When clean it has a good sparkle. NOT CZ or manufactured crystal.
The design is lovely, organic. Approximately size 6-7, well-made and interesting with a soft non-tarnishing patina. Lovely and definitely one of a kind!

You will never see another like it.
