Spinel is a much maligned gem mineral that is often thought of as a corundum simulant because in red and blue varieties it can closely resemble ruby or sapphire. Many of the worlds most famous large "rubies" are, in fact, red spinel (e.g. Black Princes' Ruby and Timur Ruby, both in British Crown Jewels). Such stones were once referred to as Balas Ruby, a term that is not used today but is synonymous with red spinel.

Spinel, like garnet and tourmaline, is a mineral name that refers to a group of minerals all having the same crystal structure. Members within the group differ by containing varying amounts of Fe, Cr, Zn, Mn and Ni that substitute for Mg and Al in the crystal lattice. Probably the most familiar minerals that have the spinel crystal structure are the ore minerals magnetite and chromite, neither of which is a gem material. Gem spinel is usually quite close in composition to Mg, Al spinel but contains small amounts of Fe, Zn, and Cr that act as chromophores and account for the wide range of possible colors. Red and pink spinel is colored by trace quantities of Cr; blue, violet, orange and green by Fe. Zn, Cr, and Co (rare) are also present in some blue, violet and purple stones.

Spinel is an oxide mineral with a composition of MgAl2O4. It is very hard (7.5 to 8 on the Mohs Hardness Scale) and is often found in octahedral crystals.

Order Processing and Shipping

   - We process and send orders the next or the same day after the purchase on everyday basis except Saturdays and Sundays.
    - We ship all products from Harrison, NJ, using USPS or Fedex at our decision. It takes approximately 3-7 (up to 10) business days after dispatching to deliver the item within continental USA.
    - We do not provide shipping method "Local delivery/pickup" and do not ship to APO/FPO addresses.
    - On your request, we can ship items UK, European Union Countries (except Italy, Malta, Turkey and Denmark), Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea. Please, contact us prior purchasing items. It takes approximately 5-14 days for items to be delivered to specified countries. For some countries like Italy, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea additional 3-5 days may be needed for items to be delivered.
    - If during 7 days the item has not been received, on your request we will provide Delivery Confirmation Number or Tracking Number and also will try to help to resolve delivery problems.
    - If the goods were returned back to us by the delivery service because of the wrong address, the buyer gets refund without Shipping Cost. 
    - We are able to ship the products only to physical addresses (USPS or Fedex valid); for sending to APO/FPO boxes, please, contact us in advance.
    - We are not able to ship the items to the addresses temporarily occupied by the customers, i.e. hotels, motels, resorts and inns.
    - International buyers please note: Import duties, taxes and charges depend on the country's laws of the recipient and are not included in the item price or shipping charges.     - The shipping methods we use are USPS Priority or 1st Class, Fedex Ground or 2nd Day. For orders with Standard Shipping Service less than $65 we use USPS Priority or 1st Class. We use Fedex Ground for more expensive orders with Standard Shipping Service and Fedex 2nd Day for orders with Expedited Shipping Service.
    - For orders with total equal to or greater than $65 and less than $100:
      -- shipped using Express Shipping Method (2nd day Fedex) or Standard Shipping Method (Fedex Ground Home Delivery) we include Indirect Signature confirmation;
      -- shipped using Standard Shipping Method (Fedex Ground Office Delivery) we include Adult Signature confirmation.
    - For orders with total equal to or greater than $100 we include Direct Signature confirmation.
      In case the buyer is not able to receive the order shipped with Signature Confirmation and such order returns back to us, the buyer is responsible for Initial and Return Shipping Costs. 
    - Please, be advised that our shipping fees are not refundable. In case the buyer decides to return the product for a refund, the buyer is responsible for return shipping cost. 
- We reserve the right to verify the order and/or shipping method with the customer before physically sending it.

Returns Policy

We stand behind all our products and try to provide our customer the best service possible.
We ask the buyers to contact us first, report the problem and receive the RMA # before returning the product.
In case the wrong product was shipped to the customer, we will accept it back and will resend the right product for free.

Items return is allowed within 30 days after the delivery date.
If the customer is willing to return the item, original shipping packaging should not be disposed of, and the item should be in it's original condition. Please contact us using eBay Messaging Service to request return authorization prior sending the merchandise back to us.
We will issue the refund or send a replacement merchandise to the customer at our own decision.
Our decision is based on inquiry from customer, product availability and other factors.
Initial shipping and handling fees are the costs of sending the product to customer and will not be refunded. In case the item sold has "free shipping", HQRP-Crystal will refund the amount of purchase, without "actual shipping costs".

 In case of buyer's remorse, the buyer is responsible for return shipping and 20% restocking fee is applied.

Products damaged during transportation.
- Products damaged during transportation must be reported ASAP but not later than 5 business days after the receipt.
Shipping packaging and product packaging should not be disposed of because they are used as evidence for associated carrier insurance claim. Also we ask the customers to send us the pictures showing the damage during transportation with the initial claim.
Once such product is reported, we file insurance claim with the shipping carrier and/or resolve this problem with the customer by providing refund or replacement once the shipping carrier fulfills obligations related to the claim.

Also we will not be held responsible if the return package is stolen or damaged during delivery.
