Ivan Zyryanov "Cherdyn wedding" 

The author of the collection is primarily interested in the poetic side of the wedding. He strives to give an integral song complex of this rite, as it has been preserved now, even if in separate disparate texts. The songs included in the collection were recorded in the north of the Perm region (Urals), mainly in the Cherdyn region, in 1947-1968. Poetic works are grouped according to the main stages and moments of the ritual action. This principle of presenting song material will allow the reader to better understand the course of the drama, to see all its participants, to understand the specifics of the works, to appreciate their artistic merits.
