Stunning, circa 1824, George Washington & General LaFayette Liverpool Creamware Commemorative Pitcher produced by Richard Hall & Son.  The molded creamware pitcher is bulbous with cylindrical neck and slightly scrolled handle with black transfer printed decoration on both sides and under spout depicting 1) Bust of Lafayette in medallion, 2) Bust of Washington in medallion, 3) (Under spout) spread eagle with stars, arrows, and laurel; the neck is banded in black, and there are black hand painted decorations on the spout and handle. Reads "FAYETTE' "THE NATION'S GUEST,  IN COMMEMORATION, OF THE /VISIT, OF GENERAL LAFAYETTE, TO/ THE U.S. OF AMERICA, IN THE YEAR /1824" and WASHINGTON" "HIS COUNTRY'S FATHER, "FIRST IN WAR, FIRST IN PEACE, / AND FIRST IN THE HEARTS OF HIS FELLOW CITIZENS, " center "REPUBLICANS Are not Always UNGRATEFUL" "Richard Hall & Son " Measures 4 3/4" high x 5 1/4" spout to handle x 3 1/4" diameter at rim.  In Exceptional condition with no wear to the pattern or jug. One tiny tiny fleabite on the spout that can only be felt with a fingernail. There is consistent crazing throught. A rare find. A fine addition to any home or collection!
