Bifen I/T is manufactured by Control Solutions Inc. as a termiticide and an insecticide. It has to be used by licensed professionals when used as a termiticide, and can be used by homeowner and others when used as a pesticide spray. Bifen I/T is a versatile product that can be mixed into a foam, injected into concrete slabs, or sprayed as a cracks and crevice treatment. Bifen I/T controls for some of the hardest to control insects such as cockroaches and carpenter ants. Although Bifen I/T Insecticide does not provide a quick knockdown, it does provide a long lasting residual to keep pests from making their way indoors. When combating crawling, wood damaging or stinging insects, Bifen I/T is a great weapon to have on hand.

Tools Needed

To use Bifen I/T you will need either a hose end sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or skid sprayer. For small household jobs, we recommend a handheld 1-gallon pump sprayer or a 4-gallon backpack sprayer. If Bifen I/T is being used for termite control by trenching, a shovel or dirt removal tool and a wheelbarrow will be needed.

How To Use

  • Step 1: Fill up the spray tank half way with water and the add Bifen I/T at a rate of 0.12 to 2 ounces per gallon. The mix rate depends on the level of infestation and the targeted insect. When used for trenching, remove soil with shovel or other appropriate tool and place the dirt in the wheelbarrow.
  • Step 2: Add the rest of the needed water to the spray tank and mix or agitate well. It is suggested to shake or mix a pump sprayer periodically to ensure an even application and to ensure the sprayer does not get clogged. When used for trenching, add 4 gallons of 0.06% diluted solution per 10 liner feet, 1 foot deep in the wheelbarrow and mix well.
  • Step 3: Make crack and crevice treatments indoors and broadcast sprays or cracks and crevice treatments outdoors. Stay off treated areas until dry, this includes pets. When used for trenching, place the treated soil back into the trench.
  • Step 4: When used as an insecticide spray, quarterly re-applications can be made for preventative measures. When used for trenching, the residual effects will last for up to 5 years.

Where To Use

Bifen I/T can be uses as a cracks and crevice treatment for various insects found indoors around baseboards, wall voids around plumbing, closets, doors, window and other areas. It cannot be used as a broadcast treatment for indoor areas. For treating various insects outdoors, it can be applied to turfs, sports fields. lawns, flowerbeds, barn yards, perimeters or homes or commercial buildings, under crawl spaces, around doorways, window sills, exterior wall voids like weep holes, around and under porches, and many other label approved areas. For termites, Bifen I/T can be injected under slabs or poured in trenches.

When To Use

Bifen I/T is used as a termiticide by licensed professional only. For DIY homeowners, Bifen I/T can be used as a preventative treatment by creating an insecticidal barrier as a spray to keep insects and various bug from getting indoors. It can also be used as a treatment once targeted insects have been spotted. Bifen I/T is used as a termiticide by licensed professional only. It is recommended to apply as spray every 3 months and if insects seem to become immune to Bifen I/T, try another spray product such as Flex 10-10 for the next time treatment is needed.

Safety Information

Bifen I/T Insecticide is safe to use around children, pets, and livestock when it is applied according to the product label. Stay off of treated areas until completely dry. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or making applications.
