These hats are handmade on the beautiful island of Madagascar by family-run co-operatives working from home and small artisan units. 

We source these hats from Madaraff, a family business founded in 2004, who regularly visit their suppliers.  The products are fairly traded and made from the finest raffia, a renewable and sustainable raw material, which is incredibly strong and hard-wearing.  Clean, safe working conditions are provided for employees and no young children are involved in the manufacture of the hats. 

A truly ethical product that will provide years of wear and style .... after which, they can be composted!
