The center column of the Ultima tripod can be extended to raise the tripod head when additional height is needed. To adjust the center column, twist the lock-knob and move the center column to the desired height. The maximum height when the tripod is fully extended is just under 67.7".

At the bottom of the center column, there is a retractable balance hook. This simple device can make all the difference in the stability of your tripod, especially on windy days. Just hang something heavy from the hook like a backpack and you�ll be amazed at the difference. When the hook is not needed, it retracts up into the center column to stay neatly out of the way.
