In The Dog Island, you are the star of the story, and you live with your mother and sibling (you can choose whether you have a brother or a sister) in Puroro Village. Your sibling (your choice, remember) has been sick for a long time and doesn't seem to be getting any better.
On the night of Puroro's town festival, your sibling collapses. Hearing that only Doctor Potan of The Dog Island can cure this sickness, you board a ship and set sail for the island to meet the good doctor.
Once on The Dog Island, and in the quest to find a cure for your sick sibling, you can help yourself by helping other dogs in need.
Dogs show their gratitude by exchanging 'woofs'. Some dogs will give you woofs when you help them, and you can trade woofs for items at the stores, or use them to spend the night at an inn.
Aimed squarely at the younger end of the market, The Dog Island is a simple enough tale, delightfully told, and includes a host of minigames to distract from the main story thread, especially for those youngsters with an extra-short attention span.

Dogz invites the player to put an adorable puppy in their PC. Your amazing virtual pet will need feeding, watering, grooming and a little bit of discipline - just like a real animal. But most of all, it needs your love.
You can train and groom your little companion to go on to fame and fortune in talent shows, or you can just let it soak up all the attention you can give. Either way, you have a wonderful new friend who is always ready to play.
Before you can start your new life together, you must choose a breed from the following five pedigrees: Beagle, Border Collie, Pug, German Shepherd and Labrador Retriever.
Once you choose, you can select your animal's gender, a collar, fur pattern and coat colour. You also get to give it a name. There's a selection of different environments to keep your puppy stimulated, and a host of items available to buy to keep it happy, including toys and chews.
Clothing and accessories are also available for purchase, along with house decor - any room in your house can be redecorated. Teaching your dog tricks is also a big part of the Dogz experience. When your dog learns a new trick, an icon appears over its body, and this is your cue to give it a vocal command. Like a real dog, the animal will learn to associate the trick with your command.
A treat after each trick will encourage your pet to learn faster. Once you have trained your dog, it's time to get involved in talent shows to see how much money you can earn. More money means better essentials, more luxuries and a happier dog.
