Dramatic Chinese Opera Mask Bandit Green and Red Hand Painted Adult Size

This brightly colored Chinese opera mask is an elegant addition to any mask collection. Intended as a wall hanging, this decorative hand-painted Chinese opera mask could be used for a special costume party. 

Chinese opera masks started from the Yuan Dynasty. During the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911), masks became fashionable among ordinary individuals. The color green symbolizes violence and impulsiveness. Bandits who proclaimed the title of lords were depicted with this color. 

In very good condition. Has back hanger. Minor wear to the paint mainly on the edges. Photos are of all angles. Fits most adults at approximately 7.5 inches long x 6.5 inches wide. Could not find a maker's mark or artist's signature.
