Hettier & Vincent

A beautiful and rare French art deco lamp by the famous Paris based maison Hettier et Vincent (the company of Louis Hettier and Calixte Vincent founded in 1924 who in 1928 took over the manufactory of Millet at 9 place des Vosges). Made around 1930. A nickel plated base in solid brass or bronze holds a shade in clear frosted moulded-pressed glass.  The signed shade was made for H&V by the glass factory Verreries des Hanots. And was used for lamps pendant lights and chandeliers. The lamp is in very good condition. It still has its 90 years old nickel plating. It shows some wear where the underlying bronze shines through the thin plating. The lamp is represented in supplement of the Hettier et Vincent product catalog of 1928 (the first supplement was issued in 1929).

The height of the lamp is 51,2 cm (20,16 inches) and the shade has a diameter of 34,5 cm (13,58").  The lamp is rewired with cloth covered twisted cord. For the States Canada or Japan I placed an American candelabra base one and a US 2-prong plug. I will place a E14 socket for European countries.
