Morrells Water-Based Wood Stain/ Dye is formulated, using the latest and best micronized water-soluble pigments that create a beautiful color to your woodwork. 

There are no hazardous chemicals, solvents or additives. It’s safe.

Morrells WaterBased WoodStains are very Low VOC, odour free, easy to use and dries faster.

These solvent-free wood stain colours penetrate deep into the wood and bind to the wood fibres.  The semi-transparent qualities enhance the wood grain, leaving a beautiful natural finish.

Interior solvent free wood stain colours can be used on all joinery, window frames, doors, door frames and of course floors, as well as kitchen units, worktops, tables, chairs, furniture, cupboards etc.

Very easy to use, simply apply using a lint-free cloth, brush, sponge or using sprayer, fast to apply, fast to dry.

Preparation & Application: Before applying wood stains, it is important to ensure the wood surface is free of previous paints, oils, waxes, varnishes or stains (previous coatings must be stripped off). Any imperfections must be rectified by sanding with the fine/medium grade sandpaper. Wood must be clean, dry and dust free.

Shake the bottle thoroughly to make sure pigment dispersal, then add contents to a suitable container and apply using a brush, lint-free cloth or sponge. Apply in the direction of the wood grains. Always test the color before applying you can do that on the areas which are hidden from normal view or try it on a small piece of wood This will give you an idea on how the color will look. Apply small amounts and work towards the direction of the grains. We recommend two coats of stains to be applied, when a second or third coat is required allow 2 hours between each coat. If you’ve applied too much paint you can wipe it off with a lint-free cloth.

Coverage is excellent, being between 8 to 12 square meters per litre, depending on the size, orientation, moisture content and surface absorption quality of the wood.

Drying time is fast. Normal drying takes around 15-20 minutes @ 18C and depending on weather conditions. An overcoat can be applied after 2 hours @ 18C.

Cleaning is very easy.  Just use soap and water to clean paint from brushes or marks.

KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. AVOID BODY PAINTING COLOURS

Finishing Touches: When dry, You may finish with a Wax Polish, Hard Wax Oil, Clear polyurethane lacquer, Clear Varnish (sold separately) available from our eBay Shop. This further protects the stain. This is mandatory if staining high traffic area or kitchen surface where there is going to be frequent wet or damp usage the stain must be protected with Clear  Wax Polish, Clear Hard Wax Oil, Clear polyurethane lacquer, Clear Varnish. If using any water based lacquers or varnishes please keep in mind it may drag the stained surface to avoid (minimise) this you can add a colour tint to the water based varnish or lacquer. Where there's a larger bottle available for multiple orders it will be sent instead of several smaller bottles (e.g. for an order of five one litre same colour stains a single container of 5L will be sent unless a customer has specified in a request message to do so). We may also send for a 5L order, 5X1L bottles to make it 5L; depending on stock available at time of order. 100ml, 250ml, 500ml, 1L are repacked in our own Eurolincs Trading Ltd branded packaging, 5 Litre stain comes in Morrells branded packaging.
