Li-ion LiFePO4 NiMH NiCd NiZn Chemistry Cells

For those familiar with the Opus C3400 and similar this charger, the IC99, is the next logical evolution of that platform. It has all the same functions but with many refinements that make it more useful and gives finer control for those of us that like to test and refresh our batteries. First the current is selectable in 100 mA increments. This may not seem like much but it gives finer control over the process. Of course the IC99 does NiMH/NiCd/NiZn and Li-ion batteries. For Li-ion batteries the type can be selected for the 3 main voltage termination points of 3.65V (LiFePO4), 4.2V (LiCoO2 etc.) 4.35V LI-HV. Li-ion cells can be charged at rates up to 2000mA, NiMH cells can be charged at rates up to 1000mA. For NiMH cells the charger has a Zero Voltage Activation Function. That means if the cell is at zero volts the charger can attempt to put some charge into it for detection and charging. You no longer need a dumb charger to bring those cells back to life. In short the IC99 does everything but with a bit more control and options. For the real battery geeks there are advanced settings that allow control of most charger functions from cut off currents and voltages to the number of refresh cycles and back light function. Those are provided in a separate advanced settings manual as most users will find the defaults handle everything quite well. Finally there is the option to export data to a PC for graphical display or use in a spread sheet for graphing and analysis.
