No longer available from the dealer, so the seller decided to manufacture the part to serve the vintage Mercedes market.

This turbo inlet sealing ring will fit om617 turbodiesel engines found in w123 chassis Mercedes models made from 1982-1985 and w116 and w126 300SD models made from 1978-1985.

Seller designed this part to be BETTER than the original design.  The original design was made out of a cheap rubber that hardened like a rock and was not heat resistant to the heat put out by the turbocharger.  My seal ring will remain supple and flexible since it is made out of a much more expensive high temperature silicone capable of withstanding the temperatures near the turbocharger and exhaust manifold.

YES, it is expensive.  These are literally made one at a time, not in some big production run in a factory. I would love to have the operating budget and facilities of Mercedes to do a massive production run of 10,000 or more units and reduce the cost to you by 50% but that is simply not realistic, nor possible.    So the price "it is what it is", and be thankful someone like me is even offering them as a much needed solution to Mercedes enthusiasts trying to keep their classic cars on the road.  Thanks for understanding.

INSTALLATION NOTE:
The seal should first be fitted onto the turbocharger inlet and then the U-shaped intake tube inserted over it (with the hose clamp loosened.  Once fitment is verified, re-tighten the hose clamp on the U-shaped tube.  It is OK if the new gasket is not fully inserted into the U-shape tube  If 1/4 of the edge is exposed, then you will have a good seal and you will know that the seal is not kinked from improper installation.
