 'GALILEO GALILEI - 450TH ANNIVERSARY'
Democratic Republic of Congo is issuing a 1 oz silver coin honoring the life of Galileo Galilei.

Galileo‘s inventions were a scientific marvel in his time and have ever since been incredibly important to cosmic and astronomical studies. Galileo Galilei was born in Italy 1564, in Pisa, and educated in one of the city‘s main monasteries. Early in life he wanted to join the Church Order, however his parents had different
ambitions for their son. They wanted Galileo to become a medical doctor. While pursuing his university studies, Galileo realized he had a passion for mathematics and became a professor of mathemathics instead.

The special is concave/convex shape minting technology. The convex reverse is symbolizing moon craters and mountains,
the concave obverse is showing the solar system which was one of Galileo‘s astronomical discoveries.
