So let’s make this personal because for me, collecting R&S was just that. I was a Ren & Stimpy Collector since the show started in 1991.  Having collected other items [PEZ] for over 52 years I was an “informed” collector when this show rolled around. Now old and retired, it is time to share my treasures with others. 

I attempted to collect as many items as I could find during the years that the Ren & Stimpy Show were on the air [1991-1996.]  All items for sale are from my private collection and that period of time [two exceptions].

Some of the very first R&S toys and other items were actually food premiums and mail-ins.  Most cereals no longer offer premiums or mail-in items.  That marketing strategy has fallen out of favor.  But not during the Ren and Stimpy era.  A premium was an item that was included in the box of food.  Mail-in items required a person to send in a form usually attached to the food box along with proof of purchase receipts and perhaps some money mailed to some address.  While items licensed in 1991 and 1992 were under the  MTV Networks and Nicktoons name, in 1993 Viacom absorbed Nicktoons and MTV Networks and thus thereafter reflected the Viacom licensing name.   Note that employees of MTV and and Nicktoons were very cooperative in providing information about licensed R&S items to fans/customers.  It was my observation that such assistance and cooperation was curtailed after Viacom took control. 

The items that were released in 1991 and display the 1991 license date should be considered the earliest R&S items. The only licensed R&S items released in 1991 were: Capri Sun Trading Cards AND The Ren and Stimpy Show and Robin Hood Jigsaw puzzles by Ceaco. All other R&S items were licensed/released in 1992 or later.  To the best of my knowledge, there were 14 Promos, Mail-ins, and Food Premiums that included R&S in the US from 1991 thru 1995.  I am selling all but one so see my other R&S listings.
