Photograph Notes: During World War 2, fires use to be lit on the slopes of Moel Famau to try and trick German bomber pilots into thinking Moel Famau was Liverpool. These ruins were the former base of operations. It is not marked on the Landranger map series, nor my Explorer map of the local area, it is located more south-west than the building marked on the map, closer to the junction of the footpaths. The building marked on the map is a farmhouse.
