Chen-style Taijiquan Old Form Routine I by Wang Xi'an 4DVDs Chen-Style Taiji Old Frame is created by Chen Changxing, the 14th-generation Shih Tsu of Chen clan in Chenjiagou. Based on Taiji Boxing Routine V, Cannon Boxing Routine I, 108 routines of Chang Quan Routine I composed by Chen Wangting, it is compiled into popular Old Frame Routine 1 and Routine 2 Taiji Boxing by Bo Guiyue. The Old Frame Routine I, fist emphasizes softness, integrated with some hardness, it moves graceful, with light and steady steps, erect and natural body. An inside strength pervades the whole body. The dominating strength is twisting and the major moving part is waist. One movement brings about the movement of whole body, which are linked successively, without any letup. It moves freely and continously. When it sends off force, its relaxing, activeness, flipping and shaking share the same strength.
Wang Xi'an energy restoration siddhi is created by Wang Xi'an master, according to his own boxing practice experience and techniques taught at home and abroad. The whole routine is neat and easy. The amount of exercise is moderate. It absorbs the best fruit of the famous traditional routine and get integrated with health preservation,from easy to hard,from simple to complicate. Chen-style Taijiquan New Form Routine I by Wang Xi'an 4DVDs Chen-style Taiji Quan New Frame Routine I is created by Chen Fake (1887-1957), 17th generation of Chen-style Taiji Quan, based on old frame and new frame and combined with his own experience and comprehension.In every routine he strengthens the exercise amount improving the drilling level of strengthening technical attack,makes the movement of relaxing, activeness, flipping and shaking , twisting force of transportation and transformation of chest and waist more obvious in the drilling process. It is an integration of arresting , quick fighting, designed carefully from beginning to end. Because the exercise amount of whole routine is more than that of old frame and small frame, it fits for young people to practice.
Chen-style Taijiquan New Form Routine II by Wang Xi'an 2DVDs Chen Style Taijiquan New Frame Routine II is also known as connon hammer. New Frame Routine II is relatively complicated. In the routine, there are main technique of pull down, splitting, elbowing and leaning, and auxiliary ones of warding off, stroking, pushing against, pressing adown.
It is integrated with hardness and softness, firmness orientated. It draws force from stamping , moves agilely as lightning ,scuttle and jump randomly, spring and quiver flexibly, and emphasize the exercise of elastic force. Externally it takes the fortitude and jump as its main technique, the slowness and gentleness as its auxiliary technique. The way of exerting strength asks for leading the whole body with hands, while matching agile footwork Hardness is the main characteristic, integrated with softness. Firmness and internal force are the master. Without internal movement, without external action. One movement brings about the movement of whole body, which are linked successively, without any letup.
Old frame routine II of Chen-style Taijiquan is also called Cannon Fist. Routine II fist relies mainly on hardness, integrates hardness with softness. When practising, stamp and exert force, dodge and move; scurry and leap, loosen and spring shake, get done without any letup, with momentum of strange python going out of a hole, fierce tiger going down a hill, with invincible might of mythical flood, dragon jumping out of a sea, a powerfull lion shaking its hairs, lead force with hands, hands lead, body follows, footwork is flexible, stand steadily, in full force and spirit.
Push-hand is a kind of Wushu exercise in which two partners twine each other's hands to train their tactile and quickness in response. While practicing, the exerciser should comply with some basic Taiji principles such as sticking to each other without being separated, moving freely and flexibly, neither separating nor making forcible contact, rotating the body smoothly, making good use of the skill rather than only the force and staying clear of the opponent main force and striking at his weak points. Combining the basic techniques of grasp, catch, kick, jackknife and punch, the exercisers practice warding off, deflecting, pushing, pressing trampling, throwing, elbowing and leaning to obtain a sensitivity of knowing the enemy intention in advance and making quick decision of how and where to attack or defend.

GRANDMASTER WANG XI’AN
Wang Xi'an, born in 1944, is from Chenjiagou, Wenxian, Henan Province, China. He is one of the 'gao tu' (high skilled disciples) of 18th generation successors, Chen Zhaopi and Chen Zhaokui. He is one of the most notable representatives of the 19th generation successors. Wang Xi'an is the Head Coach of the Wenxian Taijiquan Training and Promotion Center, Vice Secretary-General of the Wenxian International Taijiquan Research Meeting and Competition, Director of the Wenxian, Chenjiagou Martial Arts Training Institute, and the Head Coach and Head Advisor to Taijiquan Associations in Japan, France, Malaysia, South Korea, and in nearly every province in China. He is also Vice Dean of the Henan University Athletics Department, Honorary Famous Lecturer of Henan Teachers University, and Executive Council member of the Henan Province Tourist Association. |
