This Louis XVI French hand-wrought mortise mount lock has its own forged key.
The deadbolt operates from both sides with its key and is mounted on its original wood base.
The key shows signs of former rust. It has been stopped but some iron parts have been "eaten". Please look at the photos. The key is still strong though and does operate the lock without problem.
It has also probably been forced a little which twisted the shank, but again, is still sturdy and fully operational.
The wooden part had some uninvited guests, worms, a long time ago and they disappeared. Not much damage, just several tiny worm holes, which again is very normal on these kinds of antique wooden locks.

lock size: 9.5" x 4.25" , depth 1 1/2"
key 5 1/2"
