Dropped at the top of a 700ft waterfall, Bear's first task is to descend the treacherous

M rocks below. In the jungle he comes face to face with a 9ft boa constrictor; feasts on creepy

crawlies and vine-swings into a huge limestone

cavern only to find himself trapped by the swollen waters of an underground river.

COSTA RICANRAIFOREST

Bear Grylls draws upon all his experience as a soldier, mountaineer and adventurer to survive the dangers of the Costa Rican Rainforest. But climbing up 100ft trees, down 120ft waterfalls, through mangrove swamps - all while facing snakes and sweltering humidity - is all in a days work for the survival expert.

SPEREPOR

A camel train takes Bear to the deadly desolation of the salt pans where there's no food and no water but plenty of mirages to trick the mind. But his biggest test is skinning and disemboweling a

dead camel to get water from its rumen, food from the carcass and use it as a shelter for the night.

ICELAND

Half a million tourists visit every year to see the freezing glaciers, the steaming geothermal areas, and the huge black sand deserts of Iceland. Out of those, 1,000 need to be rescued. Bear demonstrates how to make a snow cave, find water in deep tunnels, and avoid frostbite. But finding food is even more of a problem as Bear is forced to eat a sheep's eyeball and catch a ptarmigan - a wild grouse.

NORWAY

Bear heads for the icy wastes of the Arctic Circle, where he tackles frozen waterfalls, hunts

wild reindeer and battles against some of the coldest conditions on the planet. Using his parachute as an improvised kite, he crosses a vast frozen lake, and plunges neck deep into a frozen river. When he finally makes the safety of the coast his adventure is far from over as he must make a raft from bits of washed up debris to reach the outer islands of the huge fjord.
