Stunning vintage large covered oval soup tureen with underplate or platter by JKW Bavaria (Josef Kuba), West Germany and retailed by Marshall Fields, Chicago, c. 1952. The white porcelain tureen features an embossed white floral, scroll and lattice band on all white ground with rose finial on lid, back is stamped Bavaria JKW 1930 Western Germany, used after 1952 and retains the original Marshall Field's foil stickers.  Tureen measures 14 3/4" handle to handle x 10 1/2" long at rim x 7 1/8" wide x 8 1/2" high to top of finial (5" high without lid), platter measures 14 1/2" long x 9 1/2" wide, Set is in very good condition there is a small nick on the embossed leaf on lid, and a flaw on rim of platter that was glazed over during manufacturing, no other nicks or fleabites noted with very little wear. A fine addition to any home or collection!
