CORINTHIAN PURE BRONZE HELMET WITH OWL CARVINGS

The owl was the symbol for Athena, goddess of wisdom and strategy. According to myth, an owl sat on Athena's blind side, so that she could see the whole truth. In Ancient Greece, the owl was a symbol of a higher wisdom, and it was also a guardian of the Acropolis. Originals of these can be seen in museums across the world, but the prototypes are in the Olympia museum in Greece.

All our bronze items, are cast in Greece, using the traditional 'lost wax' method. As nothing is mass-produced, there will inevitably be slight variations in patination and colouring. Each piece is, therefore, unique.(28-548-B)
