FINE ANTIQUE FULPER POTTERY LILYPAD CANDLEHOLDER FLAMBE SELADON JADE

For your consideration a FINE ANTIQUE FULPER POTTERY LILYPAD CANDLEHOLDER  glazed in mossy shades of CELADON, OLIVE, JADE, and TURQUOISE, the veining of the leaf delicately defined.  The Fulper Pottery of Flemington, New Jersey produced pieces predominantly of heavy slip-cast stoneware like this piece which was finished in a Flambe Jade Drip Glaze over a Greenish-Gold. I believe the company referred to this glaze combination as Seladon.  It is marked on the bottom with the Fulper 'racetrack' ink stamp, an elongated vertical oval with the Fulper name in the Hobo type face created by Morris Fuller Benton in 1910. This mark dates the piece between 1922 and 1928, prior to the September 1929 fire that destroyed the Flemington factory.  The candleholder measures 4 3/4" across at it's widest point and a 1 1/2" in height at it's highest point. It is in excellent condition without cracks, hairlines, chips, flakes, crazing, or repairs.
