  We offer this original hand colored antique map of several South American countries. Included are Venezuela, New Granada (Colombia), Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, British Guiana. 
     From Johnson's 1864 New Illustrated Family Atlas with Physical Geography.. It also includes two engraved vignettes  of the City of Valparaiso and Juan Fernandez or Mas a Tierra. Inset maps of Chile and the city of Lima.
    On the back side is Geography of South America with 3 engravings captioned: Crossing the Andes; Fording a River; Animals of South America.

 This steel engraved & handcolored map measures 18 x 14 inches (full sheet) and 16-1/2 x 12-1/2 within printed borders. Margins are lightly soiled & toned. Light edgewear at top. Interior of map generally clean. Colors are bright. Published by Johnson and Ward, New York, No. 119 Fulton Street, 1864.
