Recommended Basic Setup:

3.3 TMAXX (with Gray Transmission)

775 size brushed motor or brushless motor.

72T 32P spur gear and 27T 32P pinion gear.

ESC capable of forward only.

4s 5000mah or similar battery pack.

A channel splitter (servo Y harness) to run the brake servo and ESC together on the

receiver’s throttle channel.

Transmission adjustments:

Tune the shift point of the second speed to happen sooner.

Turn the adjustment screw 1/8 turn counterclockwise to lower the shift point (earlier shifts)

Use 1/8 turn increments to find the approximate, desired shift point.

Note*** Some Important Tips:

If the brake engages while going forward you will need to reverse the motors polarity and reverse the throttle channel on your transmitter.

When you attach the mount to the chassis use the included screws, they should go upwards through the chassis screw holes then thread up into the mount from underneath the chassis.

See the mounting screw location photo for reference.

Please be aware that some aftermarket chassis are different than the original Traxxas 3.3 Tmaxx chassis and might be missing some of the screw holes needed.

Avoid using any type of countersunk or small head motor screws to attach your motor to the mount. Add flat washers to your motor screws or use the included large head motor screws, it will clamp more of the mount surface preventing the motor from moving around and possibly damaging the mount or stripping your gears.

Motors with higher RPMs are better at reaching second speed sooner.

Your motor operating temperature range should be around 120°F to 150°F max. If you start to see 150°F or more, it's time to change your pinion/spur gear ratio or check your drive train for binding. It is also a good idea to add a motor heat-sink or cooling fan to your motor.
