Celtic Tea Reading Kit

Celts have long practiced divination by the weather, creatures of the forest and glen, water, fire and smoke. When Dutch traders carried tea from the Orient to the UK, it was natural for Irish, Scottish and Welsh to read prophecy in the dregs of tea leaves in our cups and saucers.

Women have been traditionally the ones who prepared and served the tea. Reading the tea leaves, or “Cupan Tae” in Gaelic, became a ritual passed down from mothers to daughters, grandmothers to granddaughters, aunts to nieces, with each family having it’s own traditions and symbols. Though centuries have passed, the basic method remains the same.

Throughout time, people have turned to divination and to seers, like those in my own family, for guidance, perspective, and reassurance. Some people are clairvoyant, or have a bit of the “Fae” in them, and are very natural tea readers. One doesn’t need to be so to read tea leaves. Anyone can learn. Who knows, you may find that YOU, are a bit “Fae” and have a natural ability you didn’t know about!
