The Story: After their caravan is attacked and their families killed by Arab marauders, teenagers David and Sarah flee across the desert. Their flight leads them to a beautiful oasis - their paradise - where they discover love and sex. But the desert is filled with danger from the elements - including the appetite of an angry Arab known as the Jackal.

Comments: This was Phoebe Cates' screen debut, paired with TV teen heart-throb Willie Aames. The setting is a landlocked Blue Lagoon with unfriendly Arabs lurking behind every palm tree. The story has problems - it's far-fetched and cheesy - but the cinematography, costuming, and settings were fantastic. The film was shot in Israel and the scenery was magnificent with or without Aames and Cates.

New, factory sealed disc, case and label imported from Australia on recorded media. Per the label, the film has 93 minute running time and is presented in full screen format. This is the Japanese / Guardian Trust print of the film. The disc has English audio only; no subtitle options. Parts of the menu are in Japanese with English headers. The DVD disc is NTSC format, specifically designed to play on DVD players in North America. It may not play on a PlayStation or similar game device.
