Lovely pattern to knit your special 18" doll her very own party dress in two pretty colours plus a matching cape to keep out the chill.
Easy to knit. (I like to design my dolls clothes so they are easy to knit and suitable for novice and experienced knitters).
Knitted in double knitting wool on size 3.25 mm needles.
The dress and cape use 100 grams D/K wool. Tension 22sts and 30 rows to 4" on 3.5mm needles.
(I used James C Brett Twinkle D/K which is lovely and sparkly but any standard D/K weight that works to the above tension will do)
You will also need a small amount of D/K for the contrast body, approx 25 grams.
Great to use up wool from your stash.
What little girl could want more for her doll?
My Grand daughter loves her 18"Girl Doll but she finds the fabric clothes cost too much to buy from her pocket money, (and difficult for little fingers to put on and take off!), so she asked her 'Knitting Nanny Mo' to design and knit some for her. She recently went to a birthday party and wanted to take her doll but the doll "had nothing to wear", (I guess my grand daughters mummy will be hearing that a lot as she grows up!!). The dress and cape proved to be just the job and I had one happy grand daughter.
