Then Malaika, an African elephant, is hunted in the name of

"sport” the worlds of four young children are changed forever.


Having escaped from her hunter, Malaika is befriended by the four children and hidden away both from Jack Gant, the húnter, as well as Hanna, their mother. As Gant closes in on the elephant, the children resolve to protect her and keep her free.


They enlist the help of a zoo administrator and a veterinarian and in the final confrontation with Jack Gant, the children must use all their courage and cleverness to defeat the hunter's evil plans.
