Pierpoint" is a common misspelling for "Pierpont", the main brand of Sauter Frères of Bienne, Switzerland. So I expect that is what you have. The company was formed in January 1909 by Georges Friedrich Sauter and Paul Albert Sauter, following the demise of a previous partnership: Bourquin, Sauter & Cie, formed in 1901. The trademark "Pierpont" was registered for watches and movements in 1918 and expired in 1978. In the beginning Sauter specialised in watches for women, but branched out into gents' watches in the 1920s. In 1944 Pierpoint Watch Co, Sauter Frères et Cie was advertising for agents in the UK, offering "smart and reliable watches ... of uniform workmanship" with "prices equivalent to their good quality". Pritchard says in the late 1950s and 1960s their UK importer was A. Brun of London.

The watch works and is in the correct state of age. Please note that a watch of this age and structure is not expected to have an accuracy of a quartz watch. This watch is perfectly suited for daily wear, but it is a must-see and rare piece for a collection.
