Photograph Notes: A hoarding/billboard on the wall of the York hotel premises states the Virgin Media's Fibre Optic is the UK's fastest broadband. The only fibres in my village are in my breakfast bowl. Left to right we have Self Video - video library, Lantern House - Chinese takeaway, Thyme - a cafe, which was a Co-op years ago, Nisa - grocery store, Loaf - hair stylists and across the other side of Peel Street is the Broomhill Tavern of which it is written - "One of the Broomhill Six, The Tav is a good getaway for those wanting to escape the garish Scream and student packed pubs on the main road. More of a traditional pub, it's dark and all the furniture looks like it's from the fifties. On a good day, an intoxicated local will tell any passing student that they're a sponge on society, on a bad day, it's usually just a tick-box on a bar crawl down to Sheffield Union." Unquote. It's been there forever.
