We have acquired the photographic material of a columnist in
Chicago. This person is retired and has
sold the photographic material sent to her by studios and publicists for her
column. These studio and publicity
photographs are all original.
For the ultimate fan of Woody Strode, pioneer sports and
African American history memorabilia.
Known as one of the Pioneers of African American players in United
States sports teams, Woody Strode made history in 1946 when, after having
participated in the Olympics in 1936, he and Kenny Washington became the first
two African American players to integrate into the LA Rams NFL team. Mr. Strode later became an actor, starring in
such films as "Spartacus" and "The Professionals" alongside
Kirk Douglas and Burt Lancaster. In
1993, Mr. Strode released his memoir "Goal Dust". This very rare original 1993 "Goal
Dust" promo black and white photograph lot contains the publicist stamp on
the front of the picture, given only to members of the press and not for
sale. Both photos in very good used
condition. No tears. Small creases and wear on edges. Dimensions 8" x 10"
