Cleistocactus Strausii
 The Silver Torch
(Very small seeds  -  Bag looks almost empty)

Cleistocactus strausii is an extravagant columnar plant that can reach large dimensions; its cylindrical stems, of a bright green colour, are totally covered by a dense silvery-white spine which gives it a candid appearance, but it is the flowering that amazes most of all because its purplish-red flowers are tubular and hairy, developing in a straight and perpendicular to the stem. Cacti capable of withstanding intense cold and for this reason also widely used in outdoor environments where it finds maximum expression together with ground cover and other columnar plants to recreate a "rocky" effect.

Germination
As perennials, cacti and succulents can be sown throughout the year. For seeding use cactus potting soil such as coco or peat moss, with perlite or vermiculite. Surface sow and cover very lightly. Always keep the potting soil moist, never let it dry out. Keep at a temperature of 28/32° C using a propagator in cold periods. Germinations in 4/12 weeks
