Muncie Pottery started production of art pottery in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie Pottery started as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. Muncie Pottery like so many of the other American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939.

Here we have an outstanding example of a 6 inch tall Muncie pitcher done in a highly collectible Orange Peel glaze. The Orange Peel glaze has a nice mottled design to it and defines the pitcher well. Really a unique piece that would be a perfect addition to an island decor.

Exceptional pitcher in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze with little to no crazing. Any imperfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. I cannot detect any repairs or modification. There is a flat spot on the lip of the pitcher and can be seen in the last picture. The white spots are studio light reflections.

Authentic and appropriately marked MUNCIE. Authentic Muncie Pottery. All images are original and unedited.
