Capodimonte Porcelain Dachshund by G. Armani Signed
Capodimonte Porcelain Dachshund by G. Armani Signed
This gorgeously detailed, porcelain Dachshund dog was designed by Giuseppe Armani, for the Capodimonte factory in Doccia (near Florence), Italy in 1983. This factory, which produced grand porcelain figurines, operated from 1654 and closed in 2013.
This elegant, reclining Dachshund is not only magnificent, but he is so realistic, you will want to strike up a conversation with him. So many canine figurines done by Italian artists carry tremendous character and expression, especially in their eyes, and this dog is no exception. He is in mint condition, and measures 5 1/4″ tall x 8 1/4″ long x 3 1/4″ wide without the wooden base. The base measures 9 3/4″ long x 4 3/4″ wide x 1 7/8″ high.
He is artist-signed, marked “Florence 1983” and he also has the Capodimonte “N” maker’s mark.
