This  MCM Hallmark cast wrought Iron pillar candle holder is 3.25"  tall and 4"  in diameter at the base. The portion designed to fit up into the candle is one inch tall  and 5/8" in diameter. The platform for the candle to rest on is 1.25"  in diameter. Its finish is a flat, matte black.

Inspired by the mid century vibe of spare, graceful Danish Modern and Asian /  Brutalist styling, this vintage  MCM candle holder was made in Japan for Hallmark in approximately 1975. It was designed to support a pillar candle of any height. Pillar candles - in mid-century America and Western Europe - had a standard one inch deep and  0.5" round cylindrical hole molded into the bottom. That allowed them to be held securely in place by candle holders like this one. Many Asian candles, as well, were made with a soft center base designed to be pierced by candle holders.

This is a vintage, used item from the 1970s. There are light scratches & faint traces of candle wax. The original Hallmark label is on the concave underside.
