One (1) Authentic Silver Jital, Afghanistan, Western Rajput Regions ( 900-1200 CE)

Coin Details:

Minted: (900-1200 CE)
Metal: Silver
Obverse: Bull seated
Reverse: Horseman with spear

History:

Around 750 CE the Shahi Dynasty began issuing coins depicting a seated Brahma bull on the Obverse,
with a horse and rider carrying a spear or banner on the Reverse.

Over the next 500 years, many rulers from what is now Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Northwest India, also issued many coins based on this design. There are considerable design variations coming from different mints and regions.

This Coin for sale is from the Western Rajput Regions of Afghanistan (900-1200 CE).

If you don't see the horse and rider or the bull very readily, that is because some of the
designs were more stylized or impressionistic than others from this period of 500 years.
