From what I can find online, this tie tack/lapel pin was produced by GULF oil in 1968. There is a left facing elephant head (with raided trunk) over 2 connected horseshoes (open at the top to catch good luck). I am guessing that the pin is pot-metal with a gold-tone finish. It measures 3/4" wide x 5/8" high and is in nice condition. The pin is a clutch style.
