Cost effective solution to convert a Single Flush Mounted Socket (one sunk into the wall) into a Double Switched Surface Socket.

Use the screws from your old single socket to screw the new backplate in place, then use

the screws supplied with the new double socket to fit it to the new surface mounted box.
