This listing is for 100 Paulownia seeds. This is a broad-spreading tree with a stout trunk and horizontal branches. Huge, tropical-looking, hairy leaves. Large, showy, fragrant, violet-blue flowers with darker spots and yellow throats adorn the bare branches in spring. Withstands moderate frosts and inland salty gales, but not right on the coast. Deciduous tree that grows at a fast rate to reach 8m (H) x 6m (W) in 10 years. More information on the uses can be found in this article: https://thisnzlife.co.nz/how-a-small-waikato-farm-harnesses-the-power-of-paulownia-the-fastest-growing-tree-in-the-world/

The seeds are very tiny. I planted seeds from this batch in August and they only germinated in November. This is because they need consistently warm temperatures to germinate (these were germinated in the southern hemisphere). If the day temperatures are less than 20°C then they would need to be germinated inside. After preparing pots with seed raising mix and firming this down, sow seed on top and water.

Place the pots with seedlings into a warm and sunny environment indoors, water deeply and continue to keep the potting medium evenly moist. You can plant the Paulownia outdoors when it reaches 30cm high. Harden it off first by placing it in the shade for three to five days. After that period, plant it in a sunny place with average, well-drained soil.

You have the option of sending via regular air mail or expedited shipping. If you need a tracking number, please choose the expedited shipping option even though it is more expensive, because if you opt for regular mail, I cannot provide tracking.

If your address is in South America, Arabian Peninsula or Africa you MUST choose expedited shipping. Normal mail often does not seem to get to these destinations from New Zealand.

Expedited shipping takes less than 1 week worldwide. Regular mail to the rest of the world (apart from the above geographical regions) often takes 4-6 weeks. Please do not complain if you haven't received your seeds after 2 weeks. If you live in Greece, or neighbouring countries please be aware that it is not unusual for regular mail from New Zealand to take 8 weeks to reach you.
