An original WW1 Australian battalion unit history titled "The Seventh Battalion A.I.F. - resume of activities of the Seventh Battalion in the Great War 1914-1918". This book was written by Arthur Dean and Eric W. Gutteridge and published by W. & K. Purbrick Pty Ltd.; Melbourne 1933. This is a 1st Edition and has the previous owner's name (Raymond Buggy) and a date (October 4 1933) both written in pencil on the inside of the front. I suspect the date was the launch date of this book. Lieut. Raymond Buggy was a law student who enlisted on 3 September 1915 and was taken on as a member of the 7th Battalion. His military records shows he embarked on 2 October 1916 and returned to Australia on 18 October 1917. It seems he received severe gunshot wounds to both legs and his left thigh which prompted his return to Australia.

Illusts. with photographs and maps.  8vo. or.cl. Otavo size, hardcover (192pages).  Includes Nominal Roll, Awards and Decorations, etc.  Signed and dated by Lieutenant Raymond Buggy, member of the Seventh Battalion, Australian Infantry Forces.  Nice collectable copy of one of the rarest World War One unit histories.  This battalion history has brown crocodile-like leather hardcovers with no dust-jacket; gold embossed writing on the spine. This book is in good condition.
