Original 1st Edition WW1 Australian book titled "The Thirty-Seventh: History of the Thirty-Seventh Battalion AIF" which was written by N.G. McNicol and published by the Modern Printing Co.; Melbourne 1936. This is a 1st Edition and the previous owner No. 90 Cpl. William George Phillipe Feinaigle. Previous owner signature is on the inside cover and he was an original battalion member and NCO named Cpl. 90 William Gordon Phillips Feinaigle. He just signed his book as 'G. Feinaigle'. Cpl. Feinaigle enlisted on 31/1/1916 and was discharge 21/3/1919. He received a gunshot wound to his back, knee and foot and he was also later gassed on the Western front. Rare and hard to find particularly with the previous owner being an NCO and original Battalion member with such a low service number.

This book is blue hardcover with no dust-jacket; Octavo, [xxiv] (last blank), 354, [2] pages with 12 maps and a 3-page facsimile letter plus 20 pages of plates (from photographs). Cloth a little flecked; spine lightly sunned; edges, endpapers and the last few leaves lightly foxed; nice tight binding; excellent copy.  A brief medical record for Cpl. Feinaigle has been printed from his War Service Record and this is in the pics above. Rare to own a battalion history that was previously owned by an original member of the battalion and especially with this book being in such great condition.
