Photograph Notes: //.uk/photo/1714180 : Previous - Next : //.uk/photo/1714201 This north-westerly facing photograph of the Upper Dove Valley was taken from an artificial mound that was once the motte of Pilsbury Castle; a mott-and-bailey structure. Running along the valley floor is a public footpath running between Pilsbury village (behind the viewpoint) and Crowdecote (ahead). The watercourse is the River Dove and at this point forms the boundary between Staffordshire (to the left) and Derbyshire (to the right). The peak on the left in the distance is Parkhouse Hill ([[SK079665]]).
