Used in a diner in Northern IL from the 1970s through the 1990s, would have set next to the large grilltop for bread to be rolled overtop and spread with butter before throwing on the grill or dropping in the fryer. Made by Spreadmaster, roller is removable for putting butter pad in bottom and washing.
