Plant it in a sunny location in well-drained, loamy soil. In spring, sow seeds either directly in the garden or in flats. When seedlings are 1 to 2 inches tall, thin to 6 inches apart. Dig up dock roots in late summer, autumn or early spring. Split them with a knife and then dry them.
