Toncho Pilatos was one of the great groups from Guadalajara, on a par with Fachada de Piedra, La Revolución de Emiliano Zapata or Los Spiders.

Alfonso Guerrero (voice, harmonica, flute and violin), after having been part of the groups Los Gatos, La Noche and Renacimiento, joined his brother Rigoberto (guitar) to form Toncho Pilatos. In the end, the group would be rounded off by Miguel El Pastel Robledo and Raúl El Güero Briseño and finally Alberto Beto López and Beto Nájera.

The band was characterized by its sound that included elements of pre-Hispanic music (they were also one of the first to combine distorted guitars with mariachi) and their songs sung in English and Spanish.

His first album was released by the then influential Polydor label, under the Rock Power collection. This production, which was even published in Germany, is currently cult material and appreciated by collectors.
