On offer is an old full sized master violin, labeled:
“Franciscus Geissenhof fecit Viennae Anno 1806”
The instrument remains in good condition with some small old repaired cracks on top and scroll, new ebony set up and new strings. The tone is powerful, warm, deep, clear as a bell and focused with many colors to work with. It is responsive and even in all ranges.
The violin has two pieces back made from softly flamed maple; the table is likewise matching of straight high grained spruce. The purfling has been painstakingly inlaid front and back.
