This is a 1946 100,000,000 milpengo banknote from the Second Republic of Hungary (1946-1949). Hyperinflation in post-WW2 Hungary spun out of control and some of the largest denominations ever (or since) were printed to keep up. in 1946, the "pengo" (national currency between 1920-1946) was no longer of any calculatable value , and in 1946 the Tildy Zoltan government created the "milpengo" in an attempt to stem hyperinflation. 1 milpengo = 100.000.000 pengos. therefore this banknote was worth 10 quadrillion pengos. later in 1946, the milpengo was replaced with "bilpengo" and finally the "forint", at re-evaluation rate of 1 forint for every 29 zeros worth of pengos.
