The Monotype Recorder was a regular magazine published by The Monotype Corporation to publicise its typefaces and typesetting machinery, particularly to book and magazine publishers. This rare issue of the Recorder, which has an essay by Stanley Morison on the Black Letter, was produced to celebrate the cutting of Berthold Wolpe’s Sachsenwald typeface, the first showing of which appears (in 11 sizes) in the rear cover.

Quarto, (290x220mm), 28pp; set in Monotype Bembo, very good and collectable copy.
