McPherson, drafted by the Angels in the 2nd round in 2001, played for Anaheim/Los Angeles from 2004-2006. Back surgery cost him the entire 2007 season. In 2008 he played in 11 games for the Florida Marlins. Back problems again cost him playing time. In 2011 he played in 11 games for the Chicago White Sox. Overall in his 139 major league games he hit .241 with 18 home runs. In more recent seasons he has been a minor league manager. McPherson is now 42 years old, residing in Georgia.
